Improving accuracy of large dataset analysis

A study finds that a dataset analysis technique incorporating cross-validation may be able to identify patterns in multidimensional datasets in fields ranging from bioinformatics to linguistics. Automatic analysis of large datasets can identify patterns in the data but cannot evaluate the significance of the patterns found, potentially leading to meaningless results.
