Based on the combination of chemoselective ligation and enzyme specific catalysis, a general colorimetric method is developed in this work, taking the detection of galactose (Gal) as an example, by using aminooxy/hydrazine-functionalized gold nanoparticles (AO/AuNPs or H/AuNPs). Under the optimized experimental conditions, this method is not only simple and easily-operated with a wide range of detection, but also shows anti-interference capability and high sensitivity.
