Prof. Yu Ting’s group has reported a systematic experimental investigation of the phonon properties in few-layer black phosphorus under strain and used density functional theory calculation results to clearly explain the remarkable dependence of phonon frequencies on crystallographic orientations in collaboration with Prof. Yang Li’s team from Washington University. The study of how strain affects the unique anisotropic properties in BP could lay a solid foundation for the development of BP-based flexible devices.
