Rupture process of the M7.0 Lushan earthquake, 2013

The lushan earthquake is another devastating earthquake following the Wenchuan earthquake. One recent research obtained the rupture process of this earthquake, they found that the rupture length is about 28km with maximum rupture of 1.5m, and the strains accumulated on the fault plane are not released completely. The results provide important constraints for evaluating seismic hazard. This study is published on SCIENCE CHINA Earth Sciences, 2013, No.6.
