Ancient Egyptians prepared meat mummies using organic balms

A study suggests that some ancient Egyptian meat mummies were prepared using organic embalming treatments in a manner similar to human and animal mummies. Meat mummies-portions of animals that were prepared as if for eating, wrapped in bandages, and placed inside a coffin-have been found in many ancient Egyptian tombs, but the nature of the balms applied to meat mummies remains unclear.
