Red clump giant has the advantage of bright and similar luminosity, and can be used to estimate distance of celestial bodies and probe structure of our galaxy. A recent study shows that a more comprehensive assessment is necessary when using red clump giant as distance indicator. This study also indicates that red clump giant can be used as high-resolution probe to study dynamic evolution of star cluster.
