Highly dispersed noble-metal nanoparticles (Au, Pd, Pt) are immobilized on the MIL-100(Fe) (denoted as M@MIL-100(Fe)) via a facile room-temperature photodeposition route. The resulting nanocomposites show enhanced photoactivities toward photocatalytic degradation of MO and reduction of heavy metal ions Cr(VI) under visible light irradiation (λ ≥ 420 nm), as compared with blank-MIL-100(Fe). In particular, the Pt@MIL-100(Fe) with average Pt particle size of 2 nm exhibited the highest photoactivities.
